When The Berkeley Partnership set out to plan a special evening for their team, they were looking for something beyond the typical corporate gathering. They approached YEP with a brief that called for a quirky, intimate venue in Manhattan, Brooklyn, or Long Island City, with a focus on great food, engaging entertainment, and a relaxed, celebratory atmosphere.

Our challenge? To design an experience that was fun and informal, yet still elevated, thoughtfully curated, and flawlessly executed.

YEP curated a proposal featuring three distinctive event concepts, each offering a unique blend of entertainment, ambiance, and dining. The client selected a 1920s-inspired Speakeasy Casino Night hosted at The Back Room, one of NYC’s last remaining Prohibition-era speakeasies—famous for its hidden entrance, vintage charm, and underground vibe.

YEP’s Role:

• Developed a creative proposal with multiple themed concepts

• Sourced and secured the venue, managing all booking details

• Sourced and coordinated all event vendors, including catering, entertainment, and rentals

• Built a comprehensive itinerary and event flow from reception through dinner and entertainment

• Negotiated and managed all vendor contracts

• Provided on-site event coordination to ensure smooth, seamless execution

Event Highlights:

• Guests entered through a hidden alleyway entrance into an authentic Prohibition-era speakeasy

• Handcrafted cocktails were served in vintage teacups to match the 1920s theme

• A live jazz band provided the soundtrack for the night

• A strolling magician delighted guests throughout the evening

• Lively casino tables kept the energy high and guests entertained well into the night

• Gourmet food stations and bites created a relaxed but elevated dining experience
